Additive manufacturing is a key horizontal technology for mechanical engineering and numerous other industries. The technology and the know-how for its application offer great potential for the industry. Within the VDMA, the Additive Manufacturing association deals with industrial 3D printing.

The participating companies represent the entire process chain of additive manufacturing: Technology and material suppliers, users of new production processes, research and consulting.

A semi-automated dry ice blasting system enables reproducible, gentle and significantly more efficient post-processing. The presentation will shed light on the technical basics of this technology, show its influence on quality, process reliability and processing times based on real applications and provide an outlook on future automation potential.
