Additive manufacturing is a key horizontal technology for mechanical engineering and numerous other industries. The technology and the know-how for its application offer great potential for the industry. Within the VDMA, the Additive Manufacturing association deals with industrial 3D printing.
The participating companies represent the entire process chain of additive manufacturing: Technology and material suppliers, users of new production processes, research and consulting.
In difficult economic times, the VDMA supports its members with valuable information and personalised advice. Together, we find the right course and strengthen the resilience of companies.
The Additive Manufacturing Working Group invites its members to the ONLINE kick-off event of the Marketing and Communication Working Group. In the first part, Christoph Stüker from Mesago will report on what is planned for Formnext in 2025 and in the future. We will also look at where support is still needed. In the second part, we will discuss what the most important marketing topics are for the participants.
A key issue in additive manufacturing is the removal of support structures, which remains a major challenge. A semi-automated dry ice blasting system enables reproducible, gentle and significantly more efficient post-processing. The presentation will shed light on the technical basics of this technology, show its influence on quality, process reliability and processing times based on real applications and provide an outlook on future automation potential.
Over 850 exhibitors and more than 32,000 visitors will come together at Formnext from November 18 - 21, 2025, transforming Frankfurt am Main into the capital of additive manufacturing. This community, the fAMily, is dedicated to the steadily growing use of AM in an industrial context.
