VDMA Textile Machinery represents around 150 manufacturers of machinery, equipment, components, accessories and software for the production of textile materials – from spinning to the production of textile fabrics and finishing. They represent about 90 percent of the total industry volume in Germany
About 13 percent of our members come from Austria, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden and Great Britain. We are committed to increasing the competitiveness of our members and ensuring the future viability of the textile machinery industry. The focus is on representing the economic and technical interests of the sector. We also offer our members a network for the exchange of experience and specialist services on various focal points.
At a time of profound global changes and challenges, it is our goal to shape the framework conditions for mechanical and plant engineering in such a way that our companies remain successful and competitive in the future. The upcoming federal election offers a decisive opportunity to set the course for a future-oriented industrial policy. We need a #StandortUpgrade!
The textile machinery industry is in upheaval, fast fashion from China is on the rise and many German companies are struggling to return to their former glory days. At the same time, the industry is hoping for a turnaround - but how can Germany avoid being left behind?
In addition to innovative product developments, entrenched monetization models also need to be broken up and brought up to date.
Pay-per-use and EaaS are the keywords here. But how well suited is the traditional textile machinery market to this? Do you have the right machines AND the right customers? Or is it better to differentiate yourself from the competition with innovative service solutions?
We discuss these and other questions in our interactive exchange of experiences with Pantaley Dimitrov, Partner and responsible for mechanical engineering at Simon-Kucher.
