The textile machinery industry is in upheaval, fast fashion from China is on the rise and many German companies are struggling to return to their former glory days. At the same time, the industry is hoping for a turnaround - but how can Germany avoid being left behind? In addition to innovative product developments, entrenched monetization models also need to be broken up and brought up to date. Pay-per-use and EaaS are the keywords here. But how well suited is the traditional textile machinery market to this? Do you have the right machines AND the right customers? Or is it better to differentiate yourself from the competition with innovative service solutions? We discuss these and other questions in our interactive exchange of experiences with Pantaley Dimitrov, Partner and responsible for mechanical engineering at Simon-Kucher.
