By applying the circular economy, companies can make their use of resources more efficient and at the same time be more environmentally friendly. The main aim is to preserve the value and useful life of raw materials and products for as long as possible. In mechanical and plant engineering in particular, the transformation to a circular economy opens up significant potential. Core concepts of the circular economy, such as the focus on high product quality, are already common practice in the industry. Technologies from the mechanical and plant engineering sector also provide important technologies for the transformation in other sectors of the economy.

Our event is primarily dedicated to the entry into the circular economy. ZF Friedrichshafen will be presenting its own approach at the Bielefeld site with a focus on the industrial remanufacturing of used drive components. In order to conserve resources, worn units are taken back and new products are created from old parts. In addition, we present the "CIRCO" method of the Efficiency Agency NRW and apply the first exercises. CIRCO is a workshop developed in the Netherlands that supports companies in developing new, sustainable business models and product designs in line with the circular economy based on their existing linear value chain. The Effizienz-Agentur NRW is the first CIRCO hub in Germany and has been successfully running the workshop series with companies in NRW for three years now.

In addition to the keynote speeches, the focus is on the exchange between participants. Bring your questions on the topic and share your thoughts with colleagues from other member companies and the speakers.

The face-to-face event is aimed at specialists and managers from the fields of environment, product development, lean and management. If possible, please bring your own safety shoes for the factory tour. The event is limited to twenty participants.
