Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly important role in production processes - including at HOMAG Kantentechnik GmbH in Lemgo. Showing a clear edge - at least when it comes to kitchen, living room and office furniture - is often done with HOMAG machines. In order to be able to produce numerous variants of state-of-the-art sizing and edgebanding machines in East Westphalia-Lippe, the HOMAG team is continuously developing itself and its work processes. Although the machines from Lemgo do not drill, the employees drill all the thicker boards and began early on to explore how they could make use of AI. The result is an intelligent assistance system. Work instructions for assembly can now be created on the basis of 3D CAD models.

During our exchange of experiences, participants will be able to get a first-hand impression of AI applications in production, both through presentations and during a tour of the production facility. These impressions will be rounded off with the latest findings from research. Machine learning expert Dr. Gesa Benndorf, Fraunhofer IOSB-INA, will report on "Active learning and generative AI for automation and machine maintenance" using practical examples. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sven Hinrichsen, Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, will explain the potential of using robotic process automation and generative artificial intelligence for work preparation.

Registration deadline: 22.08.2024
Moderation: Martin Strauch, Consultant, ProduktionNRW
Felix Prumbohm, Speaker, VDMA Business Advisory

Participants will receive a confirmation of participation a few days before the event. In the interest of an efficient dialog, we have limited the number of participants to 25 and ask that a maximum of two people per participating company register. Registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received.

If you are unable to attend despite having registered, please send us a short message. Important

Participation in the event is free of charge.

Organizer

The event is organized by ProduktionNRW. ProduktionNRW is the cluster of mechanical engineering and production technology in North Rhine-Westphalia and is organized by VDMA NRW. ProduktionNRW sees itself as a platform for networking, informing and marketing companies, institutions and networks with each other and along the value chain. Significant parts of the services provided by ProduktionNRW are funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
