The OPC UA 40450-1 for Joining Systems version 1.0 and OPCUA 40451-1 for Tightening Systems version 2.0 which were released in March 2024 will be presented during the Shopfloor Data Session. OPC UA Industrial Joining Technologies (IJT) Working Group defines a set of companion specifications for various joining technologies such as Tightening, Riveting, Gluing, etc.

Assembling products by joining parts together is a key operation in many industries. The Industrial Joining Technologies Standard(s) endeavors to find the best balance between the models used in all the joining technologies and specific to an area.

Joining is often tightly connected with industrial processes such as vision (for identification), or robotics (for location), so special attention has been put on harmonization with other specifications to strive for seamless integration from a customer’s perspective. IJT Standard(s) reuse OPC UA for Device Integration, OPC UA for Machinery Building Blocks, OPC UA for Machinery Result Transfer, OPC UA for Asset Management Basics to enable seamless integration.

The IJT standard(s) covers handheld (manual), semi-automated or fully automated systems. It covers several use cases such as Asset Management, Condition Monitoring, Result Management, Event Management, Joining Process Management, Joint Management, etc. and aims to provide an interoperable interface for higher-level control and evaluation systems.

All the types defined in this specification can be extended for vendor, customer, or application-specific use cases outside of this specification.

Join us for this Session as we offer you a deeper insight into this technology.

The full program of the seminar series can be found here.

The session will be held in English and recorded on YouTube for later viewing.
