Poland is one of the top 10 export markets worldwide for both the German machinery and plant engineering sector, with an export volume of around 6 billion euros (01-09/2023), and the Austrian sector, with around 600 million euros (01-09/2023), and continues to hold great sales potential for various sectors such as drive technology, robotics and automation, construction and building materials machinery, agricultural technology, and food and packaging machinery. At the same time, in view of the current multiple crises, Poland has become even more attractive as a location or supplier of components, intermediate products or raw materials for the production of machinery and equipment (keyword nearshoring).
Economic surveys show that Poland's economy will face difficult times in 2023 in view of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, rising energy costs and inflation, and that the volume of investment in Polish industry is therefore also likely to be dampened. However, in retrospect, after the Covid19 pandemic subsided, 1Q to 3Q 2022 proved to be extremely positive for the manufacturing sector in Poland, with production growth of 11.7% year-on-year, so a long-term commitment to Poland is definitely.
