Contract design for remote commissioning
Remote support will play an increasingly important role in commissioning and acceptance in the future. At the same time, there is a great deal of uncertainty as to what requirements this process change will trigger in legal terms (e.g. liability aspects, contract design, supplementary parameters).
In cooperation with the international law firm Osborne Clarke, the VDMA legal department has drafted a guideline with sample contracts, which will be discussed and presented at this event by Martin Launer (Osborne Clark) and Dr. Stefan Janssen (VDMA legal department).

Remote installation of a float glass inspection system using standard communication tools
Installation of a float glass inspection system in Russia by remote. Installation by customer worker and supplier by remote to save travel time and cost as well as flexible time frame for customer, no waiting time and supervisor is available all the time. Target was to realize the installation, commissioning and final acceptance using basic tools which are easily available like smart phone and Teams software, no special tools necessary.

Use Cases for the Digital Automation Twin
The presentation will address the simulation use cases along the plant lifecycle in glass industry. The scalability of the use cases from engineering to virtual commissioning up to operation is main aspect of the presentation. The possibilities will be highlighted in a small demonstration.

Supporting end customers in the installation and operation of WALTEC systems with the aid of the WALTEC Remote Service App and data glasses
Due to the more difficult conditions for travel, WALTEC uses its own app to support its customers, which can be used in combination with data glasses. This enables fast and uncomplicated communication with customers (text, voice and image) and quick contact with experts at Waltec. The coupling of the app and data glasses enables Waltec to provide users with significantly improved and more targeted assistance.
