The topic of the Digital Product Passport and the Ecodesign Directive is both complex and multi-layered. In addition to the digitalization of business processes, the technology in the form of a DPP system, the regulatory framework in the form of market surveillance, certification and other aspects must also be taken into account.
For the member companies of the VDMA, this means a large amount of information from a wide variety of sources. To support the member companies of the VDMA, a wide range of publications are to be prepared in the simplest and most accessible form possible.
For the development and coordination of such publications, it is imperative to closely involve the member companies of the VDMA and thus their experience and expertise in the preparation of such position papers.
The sub-working group SWG Digital Product Passport - DPP - Publications focuses on the needs of the mechanical and plant engineering industry and the member companies of the VDMA and includes the following main tasks:
- Creation of publications related to the DPP
- Determining the needs of VDMA member companies with regard to necessary information
The SWG Digital Product Pass – DPP – Publications is the technical working committee for all publications for VDMA members. This UAK drafts surveys, overviews and summaries as well as guidelines for practical application. Unless otherwise decided by the Working Group on Regulation and Standardization, the publications are available exclusively to VDMA members. In order to implement them efficiently and quickly, such publications are to be implemented by smaller working groups.
The SWG Digital Product Passport – DPP – Publications is a sub-working group of:
