Taskforce Digitalization
Vision
The German elevator and escalator industry uses the given possibilities of digitalization to increase customer benefits in terms of more efficient operation of the systems, increased comfort for users, more efficient maintenance of the systems, improved safety, and meaningful networking of the systems with other trades and networks in the building, and achieves this in compliance with all rules of data security. Standardized digital twins for implementation in BIM models exist for all elevators and escalators.
Mission
- We set the framework for elevators and escalators that are networked with access and security systems and, if necessary, with indoor navigation systems and service robotics to increase comfort and safety in buildings. In addition, networking with energy management systems leads to a more energy-efficient use of the systems
- We are developing joint standards with our partners so that systems can be maintained as needed (predictive maintenance) and define the standards for digital system documentation
- We are developing standards so that AI-supported, self-learning algorithms can optimize the operation of elevators, elevator groups and escalators
- We are advancing technologies to identify elevator users or enable them to travel automatically to relevant floors, and to provide relevant passenger information alongside other digital passenger features
- We design standards for a permanent data analysis of the operating and condition characteristics so that the operational safety of the systems can be increased together with the relevant stakeholders
- We evaluate minimum standards for compliance with appropriate cyber security measures with our partners.
- Together with our partners in the VDI (Association of German Engineers) and other relevant bodies, we create standardized data standards for Building Information Modelling (BIM).
- Together with the ELA, we support the digitization projects of our industry
