The Weighing Technology Department brings together around 60 manufacturers of industrial scales, precision scales, shop scales, laboratory scales and personal scales The working group "Eichwesen in Deutschland" (Verification in Germany) deals in particular with questions of legal metrology in Germany. Members can contribute their own comments to the development and revision of national legislative projects such as the Measurement and Verification Act (MessEG) and the Measurement and Verification Ordinance (MessEV), the Prepackage Ordinance (FPVO) or the Cash Guarantee Ordinance (KassenSichV). In the working group the dialogue with the authorities and political representatives responsible in Germany is conducted. In joint discussions with, among others, the Working Group on Metrology and Verification (AGME), questions concerning metrology and verification or the national implementation of European regulations are regularly discussed with representatives of the verification authorities and the Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and solutions are sought Two central issues for which we are looking for solutions together with our members and the verification authorities are conformity assessment or verification and the option laid down in the MessEG to take account of test and investigation results in verification.
