The step-by-step drive of the build plate is a decisive factor in ensuring that the workpieces can be produced with the highest accuracy.

When building up complex components in layers, the very precise positioning of the Z-axis is particularly important. The steps must be of a constant length, even under load, so that no distortions or misalignments occur when building up the workpiece in layers.

This is where the telescopic actuator developed by A. MANNESMANN can play to its strengths: small incremental movements of just a few µm can be carried out without vibrations and with maximum accuracy, which guarantees a constant powder layer thickness over the entire stroke length. It does not matter from which direction the axial force is applied, even when the load is reversed, the system works completely backlash-free.

With this telescopic drive unit, relatively large travel distances can be achieved in the smallest of spaces.

There are also options such as a telescopic guide housing to stabilize the build plate in the cylinder in the X and Y directions. A. MANNESMANN also offers an integrated measuring system so that the 0-position in particular can be approached precisely time and time again.
