Additive manufacturing offers enormous potential both for industrial applications in the prototype sector and in series production due to a significant increase in design freedom compared to conventional manufacturing processes. In order to fully utilize these new, constructive degrees of freedom for existing applications, it is necessary to qualify new materials for additive manufacturing in order to meet market demand. PROTIQ GmbH places a great deal of focus on the development of innovative materials that were considered "unprocessable" in the industry.
For example, PROTIQ is the first company in the world to succeed in additively processing 440C stainless steel in cooperation with a Scandinavian material manufacturer. This material is particularly convincing due to its very high hardness of up to 63 HRC, which currently represents the worldwide maximum in additive manufacturing. Combined with the further optimal performance of this material, it is ideally suited for a wide range of applications in toolmaking, right up to fully 3D-printed knives.
Thus, PROTIQ tries to meet the market demand at any time - and remains true to its motto "can't be done, doesn't exist".
