On April 18, 2023 at 11:45 am - 12:30 pm, the panel discussion "Added Value through OPC UA with Companion Specifications - for all Industries - Field to Cloud" will take place as part of the Industrie 4.0 Conference Stage at HANNOVER MESSE. Hall 8 Booth D17

The guide "Industrie 4.0 Communication with OPC UA", written by the VDMA in 2017, is the most frequently downloaded VDMA guide. The cover picture "The boy with the corded telephone" can therefore rightly be described as the starting point for the successful development of the future Global Production Language based on OPC UA. The new guide "Industrie 4.0 Interoperability through OPC UA with CS" has now been developed by an interdisciplinary team. Elementary are the meanwhile more than 40 Companion Specifications, how these are developed internationally and harmonised and how these can simplify networking in production and save costs. The extensive and so far little-known security functions of OPC UA are described in an understandable way. The added values are intended to support decision-makers with arguments.
