Additive manufacturing is a useful addition to conventional processes in series production. But does this also apply to sinter-based additive manufacturing and can this also be proven economically? The presentation deals with the MoldJet process, a process that initially stands for high productivity and an enormous range of components, the justification for its applicability in series production, the associated aspects such as quality assurance, automation and digitalization as well as an economic classification based on use cases. In particular, concrete figures and correlations between the influencing factors are discussed.
