The rapidly increasing use of data on board, specifically the exchange of data between the numerous subsystems and the control level of ship automation, has so far been hampered by a lack of standards. This is where the MTP (Module Type Package), known from process technology, provides a concrete remedy: along the entire chain from project planning to ship operation and subsequent retrofits or conversions, the interaction of on-board systems is greatly simplified and sources of error and delays are prevented. This is impressively demonstrated by initial practical experience with the new standard.
At the 2nd MTP Round Table, participants will learn about the advantages of the MTP standard in ship operation as well as in shipbuilding/conversion. Experts will be available for discussion and explain how ship operators can quickly benefit from the advantages of the standard.
