Technology-in-Dialog: Ways to create value from machine data

Machines generate a lot of data that is valuable for operators and plant manufacturers, both in individual operation and in interaction. The decisive factor is the conversion into usable information and its sensitive handling. But in practice, targeted utilization presents many companies with major challenges: In order to improve plants and maintain them efficiently, data must be exchanged. Machine manufacturers and operators also see great potential in this, but fear loss of know-how, for example.

A new approach to cross-industry collaboration needs to be developed that creates the necessary basis of trust for all those involved in the value chain. The expert panel looks at how potential business partners can jointly overcome the obstacles and arrive at fair value creation from machine data.

Supply chains in energy plant engineering

Energy plant engineering in global interplay - European value creation is increasingly under pressure in the context of global supply chains. How are companies dealing with global disruptions and transformation processes? How should industrial policy approaches of the EU Green Deal Industrial Plan and the German government's industrial strategy be evaluated?

We will discuss these and subsequent questions with representatives of manufacturers of solar modules, gas turbines and wind turbines as well as politicians.

Resilient value creation for the energy transition

The energy transition presents us with major challenges, particularly with regard to securing a stable and independent energy supply. In order to successfully master these challenges, it is necessary to implement more resilient value creation processes and to find a balance in global value chains or trade relations.

The presentation will first look at the political framework and in particular at China's supremacy in terms of raw materials and the lack of value creation and independence in Europe. Subsequently, approaches for higher resilience of value chains will be presented, such as diversification of supply chains, substitution of materials and recycling of raw materials.

Climate bo and energy price brakes, strategies for the industry

Management task energy strategy - what do companies need to know to meet climate targets, maintain security of supply and keep energy costs under control? The head of our Competence Center Climate & Energy reflects on the changes that follow from last year's energy crisis, provides an outlook on scenarios for the coming years, and identifies "NoRegret" paths for companies of various sizes.

Climate-neutral power plants: The transformation of the energy system by 2035

In the panel, industry representatives will address the current challenges of decarbonizing the power and heat system from different perspectives and explain the importance of climate-neutral power plants. In doing so, they will address the possibilities of also making existing power plants climate neutral and thus generating sustainable value creation.
The panel will also focus on the various business models that can emerge in the context of climate-neutral power plants and contribute to value creation. They will also take a look at the planned 25 GW of new power plant capacity that will be needed as part of the transformation of the energy system by 2035.

Carbon Management & Removal Technologies

Carbon Management & Removal technologies can already be used to actively reduce greenhouse gas emissions in industry and other sectors. Important for the application of these technologies in Germany is the rapid creation of the legal framework and the development of a comprehensive CO2 infrastructure that is accessible to all stakeholders. In this way, CO2 could in future no longer be regarded as a pollutant but also as a raw material - for example for the chemical industry or the food industry.

How regional hydrogen ecosystems accelerate the energy transition

Thanks to its storage and transport possibilities, hydrogen produced from renewable sources is in the spotlight as a key component of the energy transition and sector coupling. Besides large-scale projects, decentralized solutions will also play an essential role in the market ramp-up as well as the benefits of a hydrogen economy.
GP JOULE HYDROGEN was founded with this intention: For 100% green hydrogen from renewable energy. This alleviates grid bottlenecks, creates regional added value and reduces dependence on energy imports.
The Managing Director of GP JOULE Hydrogen GmbH, André Steinau, talks about how regional hydrogen ecosystems will accelerate the energy transition and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of such decentralized systems in a conversation with Peter Müller-Baum, Managing Director of VDMA P2X4A.

VDMA Innovation Pitch: Vertical bifacial PV systems - an opportunity for the energy system

Vertical PV systems enable new feed-in profiles and thus lower system costs, less need for storage, less need for grid expansion and a higher degree of self-sufficiency.
What opportunities the technology offers and why we (still) use it too little

Climate-neutral production: goal set - path sought

Climate neutrality is the name of the game. Companies' strategies for climate-neutral production are very individual, and they have to be. This is the only way to define a custom-fit climate path for one's own company, and the only way to implement measures to achieve it. From the determination of the individual CO2 footprint for plants and products, energy management systems, waste heat recovery, the redesign of heating and cooling supply to the design of a "just" transition - In short presentations, different approaches & technologies for the path to climate neutral production will be presented.
