Cyber risks are increasing in mechanical and plant engineering as digitalization takes hold in our industry. The Corona pandemic is acting as an accelerant. Attacks by cyber criminals now pose an enormous threat to companies. While cyber insurance does not protect against the attacks themselves, it does provide operational support in the event of an emergency and pays for the financial damage.

The significant increase in demand for insurance solutions is matched by an increasing tightening of the insurance market. It is becoming increasingly difficult for companies to obtain adequate insurance cover or to renew existing policies on acceptable terms. Insurers are currently rejecting around 60 to 70% of inquiries due to what they consider to be inadequate IT security on the part of companies.
