About the trade fair
OGA Malaysia has developed into the most important oil & gas / petrochemical technology trade fair in the ASEAN region. The co-located OSEA has shrunk in recent editions and is primarily aimed at the local shipbuilding industry in Singapore. The OGA in Kuala Lumpur, on the other hand, has gained supra-regional significance.

Thanks in part to various government funding and support programs, an extensive process technology cluster - mainly for the local offshore and petrochemical industries - has developed as a hub for the ASEAN region in Malaysia. Against this backdrop, VDMA has been applying for federal participation in OGA (Oil & Gas Asia) Malaysia since 2017. Starting in 2024, the biennial cycle has been adjusted to an annual one. The trade fair will therefore take place for the third time in a row.

in 2024, according to the organizers, 2000 exhibitors attracted a total of 36,260 visitors. There were 18 main exhibitors and one sub-exhibitor in the German Pavilion. In addition to the German Pavilion, national pavilions from Italy, Singapore, the United Kingdom, South Korea, China and India were also represented. Both the number of participants and the number of exhibitors and visitors have therefore increased since the previous edition. the MOGSEC conference, which focused on oil and gas, and the PSC (The Inaugural Petrochemicals Sustainability Conference), which focused on the future of petrochemicals, also took place at the same time as the trade fair.
