Additive manufacturing of thermo-rheologically optimized extrusion tools
News from the AM scene with Arno Elspaß from the University of Duisburg Essen on "Additive manufacturing of thermo-rheologically optimized extrusion tools". The design of extrusion tools is often subject to the production-related restrictions of conventional manufacturing processes. The use of additive manufacturing processes opens up new possibilities for flow-optimized design and thus potential for increasing the economic efficiency of the processes. In this lecture, results from application-oriented research on the additive manufacturing of thermo-rheological extrusion tools will be presented.
