Dealing with risk in quality management is a fact of life in the engineering industry. Studies show that up to 80% of the risks associated with quality problems result in delays and additional costs. Unplanned downtime and technical failures cost the industry billions every year, compromising product quality and damaging customer confidence. Strategies for identifying, assessing and managing risk enable you to identify potential disruptions early and take targeted action to mitigate them. Risk management is therefore an essential part of QM and is crucial for the early identification and effective management of quality-related risks.

Dr. Sandra Ringhofer, Head of Global QM and Local QM at Primetals Technologies Austria, will speak at this QM Corner. In her keynote, she will provide valuable insights into risk management in her company's processes and show in a practical way how risk and quality management interact in plant engineering. Following Dr. Ringhofer's presentation, you will have the opportunity to ask your own questions about risk management. Our open discussion session, moderated by VDMA quality management expert Dr. Frank Bünting, will provide an opportunity to share experiences and develop solutions for your own company.
