Hydrogen will be the next Oil and India and Europe will embark in a new partnership to kick-start a green revolution in difficult to decarbonise sectors such as energy intensive industries and heavy transport. For this reason VDMA, Europe's largest industry Federation with some 3600 members has decided to organise a fist Technolgy Symposium on Developing Green Hydrogen Economy in India.

Europe and Germany are active in R&D for more than 10 years and have an technological advantave over other countries. The EU governments have ambitious targets to decarbonise the continent by 2050. Some of the Green Hydrogen will be produced in Europe but immense quantities will be importet from other partner-countries such as India. Experts expect that Green Hydrogen and other hydrogen derivatives such as green ammonia or methanol will soon be the new Oil. Some of these hydrogen drivatives will be used as fuels in heavy transport as maritime shipping, heavy trucks or as SAF (synthetic airplane fuel) or as climate-neutral feedsock in Chemistry, Steel or Cement industries, where alternatives to fossil fuels will be first needed. India has the opportunity not to produce and just to consume for it's own industry Green Hydrogen but to even export it to Europe and elswhere, thereby creating added value and a green future to the Indian economy.

The hydrogen production chain covers various aspects from production, transport, storage and consumption in various sectors. At the VDMA Technology Symposium on Developing Green Hydrogen Economy in India all of these segments will be covered. The main topics will be:

» Green Hydrogen – Sustainable alternate energy source?
» Green Hydrogen – Future Technology
» Policy support for capacity building
» Regulations and Standards of Green Hydrogen
» Benefits of Green Hydrogen
» Technology adaptation and solution by the VDMA members
» Increasing Production through Green Hydrogen

Why Delhi?
First movers in the Green Hydrogen Economy will be large Energy and other conglomerates. Therefore VDMA has decided to target the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industry cluster in Delhi for this fist Symposium. We will invite experts and decision makers from reknown companies such as NTPC, IOCL , BPCL, HPCL , ONGC, GAIL and SAIL.
