Germany is one of the world's leading industrial centres - but many companies are lacking young talent. Especially in the STEM sector, the gap between required and available skilled labour is constantly growing. It is therefore becoming increasingly important for small and medium-sized industrial companies to present themselves as an attractive employer to the younger generation.
The target group - potential trainees and young professionals - is particularly active on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. Social media offers a great opportunity to reach these young people: With authentic insights into everyday working life, training content or the working atmosphere, companies can arouse interest and create trust. Particularly in mechanical and plant engineering, which is often perceived as technical and outdated, creative and target group-orientated content can open up new perspectives. At first glance, social media measures also appear to be more cost-effective than traditional forms of advertising - and at the same time promise a wide reach among the right target group.
But how do you create a professional presence on social media? What content appeals to the young target group? And how can your own staff be involved in content creation? We would like to discuss these and other questions with you at our event. As an introduction, we will present tried and tested strategies and practical examples from VDMA members. Afterwards, Schneider Electric GmbH will provide exciting insights into its social media activities for recruiting young talent.
Take the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from other member companies and gain valuable ideas for your own recruitment activities.
