Background information:
The new Körber building in Hamburg is the first building complex in the future Bergedorf Innovation Park in the southeast of Hamburg and will be the new location of Körber Technologies GmbH: On around 70,000 square meters, including 50,000 square meters of building space, a modern workplace is being created for over 2,000 people who will develop and build Körber's high-tech machines, manufacture special parts and research innovative, pioneering technologies there from 2027.

Sustainability plays a central role in the new building: environmentally friendly building materials will be used. Körber is guided by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). The energy requirements are to be covered entirely by renewable energies: The sustainable planning of the new site focuses on generating its own electricity using photovoltaics and generating heat using geothermal energy. The resulting energy efficiency and avoidance of fossil fuels make the construction project one of the Körber Group's most important measures for achieving its 'Net Zero' CO2etarget for its own production, the so-called Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
