We cordially invite you to discuss with us: How can female engineering graduates be successfully recruited for mechanical engineering? What should a corporate culture for women look like and how can it be shaped? Which management and working time models are in demand? What role do networks and coaching play and how can these be used in a targeted manner?

The background
Digital transformation, the development of climate-friendly technologies and the mobility revolution – the mechanical and plant engineering sector is facing enormous challenges. Finding and securing skilled workers is becoming a Herculean task for the mechanical engineering sector. Despite the crisis, the shortage of skilled workers will continue to worsen as baby boomers retire. Therefore, it is becoming increasingly important to attract more women to technical professions. Moreover, increasing the proportion of women in technical professions opens up further potential for companies. Because studies show that diverse teams are more successful.

But how can we succeed in attracting more women to mechanical and plant engineering? The number of female graduates in the core engineering subjects has risen slowly but steadily over the years to around 20 percent by now. But these have not arrived in mechanical and plant engineering. There, female engineers are still clearly underrepresented at around 11 percent.
