Due diligence obligations of companies to avoid human rights violations along the supply chain are controversially discussed at German and European level.

Due diligence obligations of companies to avoid human rights violations along the supply chain are controversially discussed at German and European level.
The aim is to improve working conditions, such as environmental impacts, and social standards, such as human rights, in supply chains worldwide.
In addition to the German debate on a due diligence law, there are also advanced considerations at the European level to enact a binding law for all economic operators. Globally operating companies from Europe should also assume responsibility along their supply chains and at their production sites outside Europe.
The event will present current developments in this regard and respond to participant questions. The following questions will be discussed:
- What legal approaches are being discussed?
- How does the VDMA contribute to this debate?
- What are the consequences of a due diligence law for companies and what implementation and support options are there?
