The blockchain technology has received a lot of attention in 2016 and 2017 with developments such as Bitcoin and Etherum. In particular, the possibility of decentralized and largely tamper-proof data storage during this hypes was highlighted. However, the many positive reports were soon followed by disillusionment in the form of the lack of comprehensive use-cases. The question is therefore, in which specific applications the advantages of the block chain technology outweigh its disadvantages and how a block chain can create added value for all parties involved
