On March 31, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. - 4:20 pm, Dr. Thomas Dasbach from VDMA speaks on the Industrie 4.0 Conference Stage at HANNOVER MESSE about "Data ecosystems: umati and OPC UA as trailblazers for mechanical and plant engineering" in Hall 8, Booth D17. Registration is not necessary - just come and visit us!

The presentation will highlight the transformative role of umati (Universal Machine Technology Interface) as a reference implementation of OPC UA for machine and plant engineering and how it relates to Factory-X and Manufacturing-X. umati is a key entry point for manufacturers to capture and manage the complexity of data ecosystems. The role of umati in facilitating seamless communication, interoperability and reference to standardization will be presented using the existing implementation. The overarching goal of the umati community is to enable the industry to realize the full potential of data-driven technologies. Finally, an insight into the key features, benefits and broader implications of umati in shaping the future landscape of the engineering sector will be outlined.
