As many opportunities as individual software brings with it, there are also many risks involved in having a software solution made to measure.
Especially in long-term software projects, the internal software quality is often neglected over time.
A problem that only takes its revenge over time. New features can be implemented relatively easily at the beginning, but with every change to the source code, the development effort for the next change increases. And if the internal software quality is not carefully worked on, the development time and costs grow exponentially with each new feature in the worst case.
But how can the development effort for individual software be made controllable?

The magic word is sustainability. Nowadays, software solutions have to be able to react flexibly to changes - and that without consuming huge amounts of money for code adaptations. Only software with high internal quality can meet this requirement. Internal software quality describes what is not visible at first glance and click: the quality of the source code.
