What can machine and plant manufacturers learn from the corporate culture of start-ups and how can the entrepreneurial spirit of employees be awakened under the keyword intrapreneurship?

Especially in times of crisis, such as the current COVID 19 pandemic, new ways of remaining competitive are needed. Startups often offer quick and unconventional solutions that can help companies quickly - especially in these times.

As growth drivers, start-ups primarily translate trend themes into new digital technologies and products that also play a role in mechanical engineering. The cooperation between start-ups and mechanical engineering companies is promising, even if both sides still differ considerably in terms of corporate culture, flexibility or even speed. With mutual understanding a very valuable cooperation can develop.

The event will focus on what a mechanical and plant engineering company can learn from the corporate culture of start-ups and how the entrepreneurial spirit of employees can be awakened under the keyword "intrapreneurship". In the best case, this should lead to the creation of new business fields or new business models. The typical start-up culture should serve as a model and show how the creativity and innovative power of the employees can be used through favourable conditions.

Two practical examples from mechanical and plant engineering will be presented - on the one hand, the accelerator program of Deutz AG and on the other hand the Innovation Lab of Krones AG. In addition, the start-up Peers Solutions GmbH, which is itself a successful spin-off of the Trumpf company, will discuss the prospects of a young company. Dr. Laura Dorfer will give an introductory overview of the topics of intrapreneurship from the perspective of the VDMA start-up machine.

The event is aimed at specialists and managers from the fields of innovation and business development.

The event is part of the series "Startup solutions for mechanical engineering": Here the participants learn per event about new offers from startups on current challenges.
