Uniform standards are an important prerequisite for the acceptance of industry 4.0 in mechanical engineering. In order to standardize machine-to-machine communication, the VDMA sees the uniform communication standard OPC UA as the preferred standard through its members.
OPC UA can be used to network sensors, components, machines and controllers from different manufacturers across hierarchies. The technical properties of the products to be standardized in OPC UA are concrete device and capability information. These are described by object-oriented information models in technical specifications, the OPC UA Companion Specifications, and ideally developed directly for an entire industry.
We cordially invite you to join us at our event at WITTENSTEIN SE to exchange ideas with our OPC UA expert at VDMA, Andreas Faath, and your colleagues from our member companies and to discuss the relevance of OPC UA for mechanical and plant engineering. Please understand that we have to limit the number of participants to 20 (maximum 1 participant per company) and that registrations must be made in the order in which they are received.
