90 minutes dedicated to drone research with three exciting projects and industry relevance
A great deal of effort goes into research and development in order to bring drone solutions to market maturity. The web talk "Drone Research" presents three current research projects with industrial relevance
AI inspection drone
How can inspection tasks be performed on aircraft using drones and AI-supported data evaluation? This question is being investigated by Helmut Schmidt University, the Technical University of Munich and the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt under the project management of Lufthansa Technik. Mark Tappe from Helmut Schmidt University, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Chair of Control Engineering, presents the project.

Micrologistics of the future
Using drones and driverless transport systems, the research project Flow-Pro is investigating how a self-learning, cross-company intralogistics network can be realized. ASTI InSystems and Siemens are researching the micro-logistics of the future together with the Würzburg-based startup Emqopter. Marvin Bihl, Managing Director of Emqopter GmbH, provides current insights into the progress of the project.

3D factory layouts with drone
The aim of this research project is to develop an unmanned multicopter system that flies autonomously through factory halls, recording data for 3D factory layouts. In the future, this so-called "autodrone" should make it possible to record data in the context of factory planning processes much faster and with less manpower. The project will be presented in the web talk by Andreas Seel, project engineer at IPH - Institute for Integrated Production Hannover.
