With the revision of the so-called CSRD (Non Financial Reporting Directive - NFRD), the group of companies that have to report on their own sustainability activities will expand significantly: in Germany from currently around 500 to around 15,000 companies.
In addition to large capital market-oriented companies, all large corporations and limited liability partnerships will soon be affected. According to the EU definition, this affects all companies that fulfil at least two of the following criteria:
- over 20 million euros in total assets (new in planning: 25 million euros in total assets)
- over 40 million euros turnover (new in planning: 50 million euros turnover)
- More than 250 employees - (global) subsidiaries must also be included here
The new CSR Directive also requires these companies to report on their sustainability strategies and objectives as well as on the "due diligence" processes used to identify potential and future negative impacts and risks - including throughout their value chain.
What can you expect from the exchange of experiences? In addition to keynote speeches on the increasing (legal) transparency obligations in the area of ESG (environment, social and governance) from the perspective of the VDMA and the approach to these obligations of LEMKEN GmbH & Co. KG, we want to make the event primarily interactive. The focus will be on discussing the challenges and solutions for implementing CSR reporting.
Bring your questions on the topic and share your thoughts with colleagues from other member companies and with the speakers.
The VDMA has been critical of the revision of the CSRD from the outset and has called for significantly reduced reporting requirements so that the implementation remains manageable for SMEs and usable for the user of the information. Despite the partial successes, there will also be a heavy burden for companies in the mechanical and plant engineering sector. It is therefore important that these companies deal with the upcoming implementation at an early stage - the VDMA offers active support here.
The event is aimed at specialists and managers from the fields of sustainability, quality and environment, compliance, communication and management.
