VDMA Transformation Dialogues: Round Table Semiconductors
The German government has set itself the goal of strengthening Europe's technological sovereignty. An important prerequisite for this is the availability of semiconductors. Only if Europe creates its own production capacities for semiconductors can security of supply be established and access to new digital technologies such as quantum chips be made possible.

The EU Chips Act is a milestone on this path. Now the concrete design of European and German semiconductor production must be addressed. As the representative and mouthpiece of more than 3,600 German and European member companies of the mechanical and plant engineering industry, the VDMA wants to contribute to this shaping in a cross-sector and cross-border dialog .
