Satisfied customers are the be-all and end-all. Service accounts for an average of 20 percent of sales and is the most important revenue generator for the German mechanical engineering industry, accounting for 50 to 80 percent of revenue.
But how will service develop in the future?
This question, which is crucial to the existence of the mechanical engineering industry, prompted the VDMA Competence Center Future Business to prepare a study that envisages and describes possible developments in service in the year 2035.
