The goal of climate neutrality by 2045 is both a huge challenge and an opportunity for politics, business and the population. The pressure on industry to move towards climate-neutral production in a timely manner is also growing continuously.
The question of how digitization can help drive the ecological transformation of the economy and society also plays a major role here.
For example, digitization does not just have to become sustainable itself. Rather, a range of Industry 4.0 technologies - intelligent sensors, augmented reality, predictive maintenance, smart meters, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platforms and artificial intelligence - can be used in a targeted manner on the way to resource-efficient and CO2-neutral production.
