The term 5G has established itself as a widespread topic in mechanical and plant engineering. 5G, the fifth generation of mobile technology, promises to be an important enabler for the industry of the future.
A key factor for the economic success of the German mechanical and plant engineering industry in the future will be the successful and profitable provision of highly productive and reliable wireless-networkable machines and systems, with a focus on high-quality utility value for the end user. In addition, the convergence of automation processes and reliable wireless communication will drive product and production innovation.
Accordingly, there is an enormous need for action and evaluation regarding 5G in order to recognize the true potential of this technology at an early stage. At the same time, the experience gained shows the interest of the mechanical and plant engineering industry in considering other wireless technologies suitable for industrial use in addition to 5G.
We are therefore very pleased to be able to provide you with further new impetus on this aspect of the topic today and, above all, are very keen to hear your personal experiences, thoughts and questions in the concluding and open discussion.
