Focus on legal issues and digitization

Machine builders have been evolving from product suppliers to system suppliers for some time now. At the same time, the integration of upstream and downstream value creation stages into their own service portfolio increases the risk and makes project handling more complex.

The assembly phase is the final project stage: with good margins, but also imponderables. The causes of these often lie in the preceding project phases. For example, customers are increasingly demanding a higher and specific local content share in order to integrate local value creation and partners into the projects. As if this were not enough, additional product testing and non-tariff regulations in the target markets increase the risk considerably -
usually at the expense of the contractor. The effects differ depending on the contractually agreed scope of services. For this reason, one focus of this year's experience exchange event in the "Assembly Management in Industrial Plant Construction" series of topics is on the challenges of local content and possible solutions.

Another topic is the standardization and digitalization of assembly management processes. On the one hand, this makes it possible to significantly improve productivity. On the other hand, faster and more transparent processes can help to better manage risks.

At the event, which we are organizing together with the VDMA North regional association, you will get answers to key questions, for example:
- What legal challenges arise from the increasing local content for the assembly phase?
- How can the challenges be mapped contractually in the individual service specifications?

- How does the local content portion affect the handling on the construction site and what does this mean for practice?
- How can assembly processes in industrial plant construction be standardized in order to use digitization effectively?

Contributions from experienced construction and assembly managers as well as a presentation from a legal perspective provide the framework for an open discussion and a practice-oriented workshop.

Take advantage of the event to exchange ideas with your colleagues - as in previous years, you are welcome to do so during a joint dinner the day before. As a highlight, we are also planning a guided tour of the Fagus plant, a living monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site!

We look forward to your registration!
