Promotion of technological progress and occupational health safety in the materials handling industry,
harmonization of laws as well as standardization and acceptance practices at an international and European level in order to facilitate cross-border trade, along with support and consulting for authorities that deal with materials handling and storage equipment issues, particularly at a European level.
In the area of technology, recommendations, calculation principles, terminologies, and safety regulations are developed and published. Numerous FEM documents have also been adopted into national, European and international standards.
